”The Advisory Forum provides a platform unlike any other — bringing together valuation stakeholders from across the entire ecosystem to collaborate, share best practice, and shape the global agenda.
By Ben Elder, Chair of the IVSC Advisory Forum
Each year, the IVSC Annual General Meeting (AGM) brings together colleagues from across the valuation profession and beyond. It is an event that continues to grow in scale and significance, and this October we will gather in New Delhi for what promises to be another landmark occasion.
For me, the AGM is not just a conference. It is a rare opportunity for the global valuation community to come together, to share knowledge, and to contribute directly to shaping the profession’s future. At the heart of this is the IVSC Advisory Forum, which provides a platform unlike any other.
Through the Forum, not only do Valuation Professional Organisations (VPOs) from every region engage with one another, but we also bring together valuation stakeholders from across the entire ecosystem. This breadth of participation creates a unique environment where the whole profession — and those who rely on it — can meet on equal terms.
The Advisory Forum is about collaboration and dialogue. It is a space where diverse perspectives meet — from established markets with well-developed regulatory frameworks, to those where valuation is still emerging as a recognised profession. This diversity of experience enriches the debate and ensures that IVSC’s standards reflect the needs of a truly global community. Nowhere else do stakeholders have such a direct channel to discuss common challenges, explore opportunities, and influence the international agenda.
In Delhi, our programme will focus on many of the key issues currently shaping our work: the impact of AI and new technologies, the growing role of ESG in valuation, the treatment of intangibles, and the management of valuation risk. These are issues that affect us all, and it is through collective discussion and the sharing of best practice that we can build solutions which support transparency, trust, and consistency worldwide.
I warmly encourage all valuation stakeholders — whether you are part of a VPO, a practising valuer, a leader of a valuation service firm, an academic, regulator, or a user of valuation services — to join us in Delhi. Your participation is essential to ensuring that the IVSC remains grounded in the insights of the community it serves. Together, we can continue to advance valuation as a profession and ensure its relevance and resilience in a rapidly changing world.
