Why Education Matters to the Profession
Valuation education is evolving. New asset classes, the growing influence of technology and data, and the increasing global reach of the International Valuation Standards (IVS) are reshaping what future professionals need to know, and how they are being taught. Around the world, educators are meeting that challenge with work that deserves wider recognition.
The IVSC Global Showcase of Excellence in Valuation Education is designed to give that work a global platform. It commends the academics and educators strengthening the profession through innovative curricula, engaging teaching and forward-looking assessment – and shares what works with the wider valuation community.
Three Categories, One Purpose
Entries are invited in three distinct categories:
- Development of Innovative Curriculum for Valuation Programmes – recognising the design of programmes, pathways and modules that go beyond a traditional syllabus-based approach to prepare students for contemporary valuation practice.
- Innovation in Teaching and Pedagogy – recognising engaging, active and practice-relevant teaching that strengthens professional judgement and confidence in applying valuation principles.
- Innovation in Learning Assessment – recognising authentic, technology-enabled and feedback-rich assessment that reflects real-world valuation tasks.
Applicants may enter more than one category where their work spans several areas. Each submission is judged on innovation, evidence of impact, relevance to professional practice, and the potential for wider adoption.
Open to Educators Everywhere
The awards are open to individual academics and educators involved in valuation education, or in related programmes offered at any accredited or recognised academic institution. That includes lecturers, module leaders, programme directors, curriculum planners, educational researchers and educators using technology to transform teaching.
Entry is not restricted to institutions that are members of the IVSC or affiliated with a Valuation Professional Organisation (VPO). Educators from any jurisdiction – and from related disciplines such as finance, economics, law, planning, construction and the digital built environment – are encouraged to apply, where their work contributes meaningfully to valuation education.
Celebrated in Cologne
Winners and highly commended entries will be announced at the IVSC AGM and Conference in Cologne on 17 November 2026, with a live showcase featuring presentations from selected entrants. For invited winners, the AGM ticket and Gala Dinner will be covered by the IVSC.
An Initiative of the IVSC Academic Forum
The IVSC Academic Forum was established in 2025 to strengthen the connection between academia and the International Valuation Standards. It brings together universities, researchers, educators and academic programme leaders committed to advancing the quality, consistency and professional relevance of valuation education worldwide, working alongside Valuation Professional Organisations, regulators and industry.
