IVSC going for growth with appointment of COO
The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has announced today that April Mackenzie will be joining the organisation as Chief Operating Officer.
Ms Mackenzie, Global Head of Governance and Public Policy, will be leaving Grant Thornton in 2014. In the interim period, Grant Thornton International Limited is delighted to sponsor her into this senior executive role where she will be tasked with helping to steer and support the IVSC through an intense phase of growth. In taking on this role April will step down from the IVSC Board of Trustees which she has served on since 2009.
Ed Nusbaum, Global CEO of Grant Thornton, said:
“Grant Thornton is very pleased to support April in taking on the important role of Chief Operating Officer at the IVSC. Reliable valuations are critical to the effective functioning of businesses and capital markets around the world and we are glad to play a part in helping to achieve greater global acceptance of International Valuation Standards (IVS) and gaining greater credibility and consistency in valuation practice.”
Sir David Tweedie, chairman of the IVSC Trustees, said:
“We are very grateful to Grant Thornton for supporting our activity at this critical juncture for the IVSC. Valuation issues remain an aspect of the international financial system which have not been adequately addressed since the crisis.
“April has made a great contribution to the IVSC to date in her role as a member of the Board of Trustees. This experience, combined with her extensive policy and operational skills and her knowledge of profession building will prove invaluable to us.
